The other story that runs through it is the love story of three couples who's lives are all mixed up with each other's and who are all friends. The actual main love story is a bit lame and quite run of the mil but it is the other two love stories which really spoke to me especially the second but first I will deal with zoe kazan's character (fast becoming one of my favourite actresses especially after watching The Pretty one and Ruby Sparkes) and Bram barouh (who incidently directed it). They play Spencer and Mary Catherine who are a pair of hippy types she is a artist and I think he is an actor who is being pulled away to LA. Her insecurities keep pushing her away but it is his love for her which pushes through and wins her over, of course they are already in a relationship, when she finds out she is pregnant she is convinced this will make him run but actually it just cements how much he loves her despite her refusing to be loved in some ways.
However it is the second love story which blew me away and made me think of how much God loves us and actually as women particulary single women ( like me) how worthy of Love we are, that God has made us that way with the power of his Cross. Sam No 2 is a very unassuming chap nothing to write home about in any way who falls for Annie long before she even will speak to him. In fact her type is the mean rocker type but that gets her into a lot of emotional trouble. Sam is trying to Woo Annie but she is not giving him a chance until her Ex breaks her heart and she looks for a shoulder to cry on. Is this other chap taking advantage well perhaps but what happens next is remarkable and beautiful and spoke to me of God's unconditional love. Once again Annie wants out, this guy is not her type and she doesn't want to waste time. However Sam is having none of it he is not letting go without a fight ( not enough men will fight for who they love!) Nonetheless God will fight tooth and nail for us just like Sam. He tells her to close her eyes and he says 'the trouble is you won't let yourself be adored but you are worth it especially you, let me love you as you deserve I believe I can make a really good job of it I've already started.' When she opens her eyes she sees a new man Infront of her and falls madly in love with him. Is this possible I'm not sure I've never been in that position but I do believe that there is something about making yourself vulnerable and letting someone love you especially God. This is exactly what God says to us you are worthy of being adored it's beautiful. Of course he wants the one who chooses us on an earthly level to partner with in marriage to use to adore us as well. This film reminded me that I am worthy of being adored, Jesus adores me and makes me worthy and will make the way when the time is right to be adored by another as well. So I challenge you and I challenge myself to be vulnerable allow others in especially God and even that special someone:)
